Get the sizes right in four steps

American mahjong is played with 152 tiles, including 8 jokers and 8 flowers; many sets add spares for 160 or 166 pieces. Match everything to your tile size.

    Measure one tile

    Standard American tiles are about 1.2 x 0.9 inch. Large-print tiles run bigger, so measure before you buy racks.

    Match the rack length

    17.5–18 inch racks fit standard tiles. Choose 19–20 inch racks for large tiles or more room.

  3. 3

    Pick a mat size

    A 31.5 inch square fits four racks and the wall. 33–36 inch mats leave room for elbows and drinks.

    Choose a bag that fits

    Check the inside size against your rack length and your mat, rolled or folded.

Good to know before you order

Are your sets for American mahjong?

Yes. Our sets are American-style, with jokers and flowers and English index marks. Check the piece count in each listing: 160 or 166 pieces means spares are included. We do not carry 144-tile Chinese sets.

Do you sell the National Mah Jongg League card?

No. The annual card is published and sold only by the National Mah Jongg League. Our card holders and sleeves fit the standard card.

How long does shipping take?

We prepare orders in 1–3 business days. Free standard shipping arrives in 4–10 business days in total, with tracking, to all 50 US states.

What if something arrives damaged?

Tell us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and the box, and we send a replacement or refund the item.

How do I pay?

Checkout is processed by Shopify Payments: major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We never see your full card number.
